Pastor Danny Hamlet is the president of the Evangelical Federation of France. There is also a writer and lecturer. In this context, his presence among us closes a series of five lectures on the couple and the family, held Ouen Toro. So it is logical he announced the Word this Sunday.
The theme for the occasion, concerned the meaning of baptism and the difference between the believer and the unbeliever. The latter lives in darkness, his mind is empty of meaning, his understanding darkened, it is alien to God's life, he prefers the slavery of ignorance to the truth of freedom, his heart is hardened and values are reversed: he calls is what God calls evil and vice versa.
The overwhelming conclusion is that only Christ can change us. For this he must strip himself of clothing our old nature and take the nature of Christ, finally to be renewed by the Holy Spirit. It's the symbolism of baptism. Because it involves taking a position, a commitment, only adults are baptized, not children. Immersion is a recount, the getting rid of his old nature. When the Christian out of the water, he is identified with Christ in his resurrection. It is the coating, that is to say, purification, sanctification to enter God's plan: to make us increasingly like Christ. If the recount and the coating have a single place time, renewal, however, is done every day by the grace of the Holy Spirit. This change is to put Jesus at the center of life of the baptized. He gives the source of new energy to live up to the will of God is holiness.
The Christian's new life is embodied in its dealings with others. The greatest commandment, to love God and neighbor, comes in different areas: the Christian is trustworthy, he believes what he says and says what he thinks, his words are revealing. He knows how to manage emotions, replacing anger with anger negative positive it is benevolent, forgiving and truly loves.
